Maria Stokes grew up in Asia and Europe on United States military installations. After attending college and earning her B.A. on U.S. Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily, she relocated to the Seattle area to work as a freelance writer, digital media marketer, and as a recruiter, in the tech industry. Maria’s interest in in digital forensics, cyber investigations, and ethical hacking led her to return to graduate school. She is attending the University of Maryland University College and participates in a program designated by The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a NSA/DHS National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense (CD).
